Meet the 2022-23 Inspiring Health Justice Residents

November 29, 2022

Inspiring Health Justice is a partnership between Dillard University’s Minority Health and Health Equity Research Center and A Studio in the Woods. The aim of this program is to bring the arts and public health together to address our region’s longstanding health disparities through creative, cross-disciplinary mentorship to focus the energy and passion of Dillard art students towards fostering health equity.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, Dr. Robert Maupin will work with Dillard faculty member John Barnes and Ray Vrazel and visual art and theater students Breah Broussard, Tia Green, Olivia Johnson, and Gabriel Prewitt. Their focus will be on reproductive health disparities and the intersecting challenges for everyone affected by the issue of reproductive health — particularly Black women — historically as well as now in a post-Roe v. Wade world.
