Wendy Taylor Carlisle Texarkana,
TX
Poet-in-residence, October 2003
"The
deeper meaning of the practice of poetry evolved for me
sitting by this pond. Here, I had a chance to see the larger
picture. After three weeks in this wonderful sanctuary,
I have a new appreciation for poetry as a sacred art and
to this place as the proper space for its pursuit."
Wendy Taylor Carlisle was raised in Florida
and has lived in Texarkana, Texas for the last fifteen years.
She has given poetry classes and readings, gone to school
and attended writing workshops. She taught at University

print and internet magazines. Her books include Reading
Berryman the Dog and After Happily Ever After.
