Roy Staab: MY MONT ST. MICHEL ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER

Situated on the river edge of the batture, the tidal shore of the Mississippi River south of New Orleans, near the Studio-in-the-Woods, is my ‘Treasure Island’ is a site specific sculpture. I created it with the sticks that I found in the nearby black willow woods. Some of them were lodged high in the trees. The mud/sand shore is wash by the high tide every day. I went there early in the morning to video the action of the water and my sculpture; a strong wind was blowing from the north that you can see in the background.
