Pond
River level affects water table, therefore, when the river is low, the pond is low. The pond is an average of 8 feet deep but can get as low as 1-1/2 foot deep.

Dug in 1980 in a low area, the pond runs off toward the back of the property, away from the river. It creates another rich ecosystem of creatures and plants that, in turn, attract more birds and other animals. The pond served as an inspiration for many of our artists including Hannibal Lokumbe, a musician, who completed a piece for the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra while relaxing on the dock of the pond.
