Support A Studio in the Woods this Holiday Season

December 2, 2021

Dear Friends,

We find ourselves writing you in the afterglow of a beautiful FORESTival, our annual festival celebrating art and nature right here in our beloved woods. It was truly a gift to enjoy art, music, nature, good food and being together in community on a sunny November day after the challenges of the past two years.

When our founders and first board of directors birthed A Studio in the Woods in September of 2001, they could not have imagined the vibrant network of artists, scholars, activists, and supporters that the Studio has touched, nor the challenges we now face. They understood then how much the Woods had to offer artists and we understand now how much artists have to offer in the fight to save our environment. As the climate crisis permeates the collective understanding of the future, we look to artists to ignite our imaginations, illuminate our challenges, and propose new ways to examine the world.

A Studio in the Woods provides a space/time capsule in which artists and scholars can come listen deeply to the land and their own inner voice to create works that move humanity forward. It has been amazing to see the evolution of Lucianne and Joe’s vision carried through all these years so thoughtfully and with great intention.  – Kathy Randels, Founding Board Member

Twenty years after our founding, we have brought many communities together, taken deep dives into the unknown, and embraced our mission of providing a creative response to the challenges of our time (and beyond). We have endured, and evolved with purpose. And thanks to your support, we’ve never had to walk alone.

As 2021 comes to a close and we move into our third decade, we humbly ask for your continued financial support. Your gift of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000, or more will help the Studio carry out its mission-driven activities throughout the year. This work is vital to our shared future and we couldn’t do it without you.

With Gratitude,

Ylva Rouse, Board Chair
