Dr. McCall and Dr. Townsend convened a two-day symposium at A Studio in the Woods bringing together scholars from the fields of philosophy and anthropology to discuss the some of the shared concerns of both fields; especially those having to do with social and political theory.

Mary Townsend is an assistant professor of philosophy at St. John’s University in Queens, NY.

She works on politics, ethics, and gender in Plato and Aristotle, with interest in 19th/20th century European philosophy, particularly Kierkegaard, de Beauvoir, and Irigaray.
