Dr. Sukari Ivester is a sociologist and urban planner with a focus on hazard mitigation, environmental justice and the preservation of heritage in coastal frontline communities. Dr. Ivester’s research at ASITW focuses on the ways racial inequalities are implicated and reinforced in the protection and restoration of the Louisiana Coast.
