Artist Salon with paris cyan cian

June 6 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us to meet and learn more about Rising: Climate in Crisis Resident paris cyan cian. She will be offering a segment of her current work, “m3: here’s to you my people” on Thursday, June 6th, from 6pm-9pm followed by a delicious dinner that we will share together.

cian recommends bringing a journal (or something to doodle with/on) for reflection during the salon. The event is free, but registration is required below!

paris cyan cian is a New Orleans Black girl playing and composing with devotion, through an embodied ceremonial practice in nature and beyond. As a movement architect, educator, and curator working with and through various interdisciplinary forms of dance, drawing, film, photography, and sound, cyan’s creative work mobilizes embodied memory and ecological play into a worldmaking practice.

While in residence, she has been developing a series of works for her interdisciplinary project modjeskamodjeskamodjeska, including a biodegradable garment, an oyster reef installation, and a floating wetland design for New Orleans canals.
