Katharine Lee is a biological anthropologist and feminist scholar whose research focuses on menstruation, physical activity, and bone health. As part of her research, she collected data about changes in menstrual bleeding after vaccination for SARS-CoV-2. This project generated significant national and international attention, collecting well over 100,000 responses to the online survey.

The time at Studio in the Woods will be spent working with Dr. Emma Verstraete on two manuscripts, one that traces how messaging about the survey and temporary menstrual changes propagated through online communities such as Tumblr and a second manuscript focusing on the menstrual experiences of people with endometriosis after receiving vaccines.
